Children’s dietitian

Every parent wants their child to feel good and stay healthy for many years.

Children’s daily meals undoubtedly have a huge influence on their wellbeing and health. Children usually cannot judge for themselves what is right for them and what is not, so the responsibility for building healthy habits lies with the parents. More and more children today are overweight, mainly because of mistakes in the way they eat. Being overweight in childhood carries the risk of many diseases later in life.

That is why parents should shape healthy habits in their children as early as possible. A diet for children should be tasty, varied and attractive to the eye, so that the child associates it with the pleasure of discovering new flavours rather than with strictness or sacrifice. A children’s dietitian puts together children’s meals so that the whole family can learn healthy eating together.

The support package includes

  • an assessment of the child’s development and of deviations in body weight and build for the child’s age
  • an analysis and assessment of the child’s eating behaviours that may affect development and health problems
  • a detailed analysis and assessment of the intake of several dozen nutrients in the diet, with a thorough explanation of their role in children’s nutrition
  • a detailed nutrition plan with a set of daily menus (a separate one for each day of therapy). The plan is closely matched to the current problem, the goal, the child’s health, their taste preferences and so on. It includes all portion weights and preparation instructions.
  • a detailed shopping list that makes the diet easier to follow
  • a list of special therapeutic tasks
  • guidance on possible physical activity
